Basil Green Beans and Tomatoes
1 pkg. frozen green beans
4 strips lean bacon
2 large onions, chopped
2 cups chopped fresh tomatoes (2 large or 4 medium)
1 t. salt
1 t. basil leaves
1/8 t. pepper
1/2 cup hot water
Fry bacon until crisp. Drain and put aside. Saute onion in bacon fat until soft but not brown. Add remaining ingredients. Simmer, covered for 15 minutes or until beans are very tender.
